Christmas Already?

I stopped by Michael's yesterday to pick up a gift card for my dear friend Jen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!!! I haven't stepped into Michael's for over a month now. I'm trying to save $ and decided to use all the supplies that I already own. Anyway, while I was walking around to look for my "deals," I noticed Halloween decorations and craft items are being displayed. Next to the black cat light decoration thingie (the head actually moves!!!), there was SANTA in display (along with trees and ornaments)! We are only in August and Christmas decoration is available for purchase!!! I didn't get to enjoy fall yet. Where did Sept, Oct, and Nov go? I feel like I am running out of 2009 time. I actually stressed out leaving Michael's last night.

Better start planning for Christmas card class...

August Weekend

Friday night was the first time I went to a Dodger's game. My initial thoughts, very different than Angel's stadium. The Dodger stadium seems older and the bathrooms weren't as nice. But I had a great seat! ;) OOO and the wave got around at least 3 times. The wave, I really enjoy the wave. It truly amuses me when it goes around and around. I was bummed that I couldn't find my ice cream sundae in the Dodger's helmet hat but I did try garlic fries... The game was exciting! We beat the Cubs 2 to 1!!!!

Dodgers Game
Even though we got home around 11:30, the adults of the group decided to try a new donut shop called Donut Man. By the time we got there at 12:30 am, there was still a line, and people were sitting and eating in the parking lot (there were not tables or chairs there). So they had to be good!!! They were known for their donuts that were filled with fresh fruit. It was yum but not sure if I will drive out to Glendora just for donuts...

Harvest Crusade 2009

Harvest Crusade 2009 was AMAZING! The entire Angels Stadium was full! Over 50,000 attendees!!! It was sad that the people that were still waiting in line had to be sent back home...

Yes, this was my first time attending and I got my sister, aunt, and cousin to join me. =) I actually invited a lot of other friends but I keep getting rejected and keep hearing excuses. You know who you are and I will keep inviting you to these events and hopefully, next time you will give it a try. My camera is still out of order so thank you Cat for lending me your camera!

The event was beautiful. I truly felt God's presence during the entire evening (especially during worship). Pastor Greg Laurie's message was also AWESOME!! He was easy to relate to and had a wonderful sense of humor. His message was very powerful, strong and yet, he wasn't pushing God down your throat. He was simply stating the truth and offering us the choice. The choice to accept God and Heaven. Not to mention, Chris Tomlin was there!!!! I witness the altar call for the first time and WOW, again I was amazed. There were yellow signs with different languages so people had the chance to commit their life in their native tongue. That was cool too! 4,583 people decided to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior that night. And of course, my Tiffany, also committed her life to Christ. Praise the Lord! :) And CONGRATS TIFF!!!!

OOO and Chris Tomlin played Sing Sing Sing with the fireworks!!!!!!!!!! The night was PERFECT!

To my wonderful friends that prayed for my sister, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She enjoyed it and I'm very grateful.

Closure

This past weekend was a weekend of many firsts and lasts. On Friday, I had the opportunity to lead the youth group for the first time. Well, not exactly lead since I really didn’t do much but share a little bit of my feelings and pressed play on the video. Two of the youth came up to me and said that night made their day. If God’s plan was for me to touch one of the kids heart, all my nerves were worth it.

Saturday was Andy’s memorial. I feel like everything came to an end on that day. I no longer have the lingering feeling of “what is next for Andy.” I guess that is what it means to have closure. Even though I will miss him, all my sad feelings are gone. I am just happy that is in heaven. That peace brings a smile to my face actually. He is in a place where there are no suffering, no pain, no worries. WOW! I can imagine him eating, cooking, sharing his jokes and magic tricks, and of course, playing baseball.

So yes, it is time to move on. Time to plan for class!!!! (And to find a new camera)

Hiatus

It has been a good while since I post. I couldn't post when my emotions were going through a roller coaster ride... when I don't even know what to feel or say.

The past weekend, on Saturday, I actually felt happy. At least for a short while. I got my nails done with Yuka in Irvine and this time I wanted to get Totoro. When I see the cute characters, I cannot help but smile.

Mom and B came back from their 2 month vacation. She bought me one of my favorite snacks, dragon beard candy!! I have been craving that for years and she found it! Mom can be pretty darn amazing. This candy is suppose to be the cotton candy of China where they wrap nuts inside. (Yes, I will post photos of these too. My camera broke...

In regards to card class, I will plan it after this Saturday. Andy's memorial service is Saturday and I will go from there. The service is at 4pm at FCBC and it is open to everyone.
